I just have to show-off my "collection" .

Post by 1923VictorFan »

If the definition of a collection is "more than one" I have now joined the legions of hard core talking machine collectors.
I bought the large cased, 1923 VV-VI for $70 almost 10 years ago but the little 1914 VV-IV below was purchased earlier this week for $138. I love seeing the two together. The 1923 VV-VI was one of the last built and has the best case, motor and turntable offered. The smaller VV-IV is one of the earliest and most simple machines.
Anyway. Now that my collection is complete I can focus all of my attention :? and considerable resources  to acquiring more early Victor records. Beware of my dangerous attack pugs who guard the Victrolas!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on becoming an official "collector" in this hobby. (Although it can be more of a sickness than hobby!) :)

Nipper has put on a few pounds!

I'll trade you a nice box of one-sided Victors for the attack Pug?

Congratulations on joining the "collector-hood".....I did that last month when I bought the Columbia portable model to add to my Victor VV-IX. Almost tempted by an Edison BC model this last week also, but alas, the Seller then parted it out on Ebay! John

Thanks for sharing, indeed! I had two machines only 5 years ago.

Wouldn't the bigger one look better on bottom? :-p

Great Collection. It brings back memories of my first machine, a late Victrola VI like yours. I was in the Navy at the time and had it aboard ship. When I came to Bremerton, WA, I bought a house. Before you know it they will breed like rabbits. I still have that VV VI. Enjoy the magic they provide.
