Victor Monarch at flea market

Post by Ampico66 »

I'm interested in getting the rest of the parts for this, but I already have the horn and reproducer. Also, check out the celluloid Lyon and Healy tag. I've never seen that before. Please message me if you have the parts I need. I don't know if a Victor II or Victor III back bracket will work for one of these. Apparently there was an early front-mount Monarch and a later back-mount one, which is the one I have.

Congrats on what looks like a great find. You need the back bracket that fits a Vic III (M) or IV (MS). The V (D) and VI use a very similar bracket, which looks exactly the same but ⅝" shorter. A Vic II bracket will not work. Good luck with the hunt. I think Ron Sitko is making repros, and you can find the repro stencils also, if you can't locate an original. They are surprisingly tough to find, I've been looking for one for a while.

Congrats, that's great! I had the same machine and mine also had a nickel Sherman Clay tag from San Francisco. Is your Lyon and Healy tag from Chicago?

My earlier response was made when I was not signed in - here are a few pics of my Monarch showing the back bracket and the tag.

Based on the size stated in the listing it should be the right one, good luck, however, may the best person win!

I'm not sure about this one, you need to find out the size. The only reason I know the other one is correct, is I asked the question about the size. You can you that question and answer (posted at the bottom of the listing) as a guide for getting information about this one. Good luck.
