Berliner Fibre Needle Packet

Post by gramophone78 »

I carefully opened a Berliner fiber needle packet I found years ago. To my surprise there was a nice instruction paper inside. The envelope is so fragile that I decided remove the needles and to frame the whole thing.

I'm surprised the Canadian HMV instructions look different to those from British HMV, although I'm guessing yours are about 10-15 years older than the one pictured below.
Nice find.

These instructions are interesting to read in conjunction with the previous thread concerning "Tracking and levelling".

The manufacturers unequivocally state that the machine should be level, yet some collectors appear to have found that a little tilting is beneficial. The answer seems to be to do whatever works best for you.

It's interesting that the Canadian HMV instructions use the same illustration & much of the text, from the original (Pat'd 1907) B&H instructions discused in this thread-

The image has been removed, but they were the same as the "Hall" instructions pictured below.
