VV-350 restoration project question
Just found a VV-350 and started to clean it up. It is missing the lid support and the albums. Does anyone know if lid supports (air supports) are the same ones used on the other models or are there different sizes? Also what kind of albums came with it? I'll post some pictures as soon as I get it back together. Thanks, Jan.

Re: VV-350 restoration project question
I know there are several models that used the air lid supports. Surely someone out there has a couple in their collection? What I need to know is if one from say a Credenza etc will fit this machine. Thanks, Jan

Re: VV-350 restoration project question
It's a 1924 model, so it probably used the same ones a VV-405 used. I can't tell you if they're the same as a Credenza though, my 405 is buried in storage at the moment. I'd ask George Vollema if I were you, he would be your best bet.
I'd like to see pictures of your 350.

Re: VV-350 restoration project question
The 350 used the same lid support as the 360, 370 and late models of the 125, 230 and 405S. It is not the same lid support as used in any of the other pre-Orthophonic Victrolas or the Orthophonic Victrolas, although I don't know the specific differences.
The albums should be the standard maroon 10-page albums used by any of the 1920s Victrolas. The glossy albums used in the Orthophonic Victrolas were introduced in early 1925, so could be appropriate for your model 350 also.

Re: VV-350 restoration project question
Thanks for that info, Silvertone, I suspected they might be different. Just going from memory, I'm pretty sure the supports in the 405 are smaller than that of a Credenza, by supports, I mean the dashpots themselves.

Re: VV-350 restoration project question, pictures added
Sorry for the picture quality, I had to use the flash and the machine actually looks better in person. It was really dirty and partially dismantled when I got it. So far I have cleaned, greased and oiled the motor, cleaned the cabinet with Gojo and put it back together. It plays now but the reproducer needs rebuilding and that is next. I think it will be a nice one when I get it finished. Check out the lid support. My husband made it up until I can find the correct dashpot support.
