Big bucks? I've seen these go for twice that!

The decal looks perfect - - perhaps a little too perfect. If it's a repro, that could have hurt the final bid, but even so I think someone got a good deal (barring unforeseen hidden "surprises").

I was suspecting too perfect on the main decal but the entire machine looks to be minty.

It appears to be a great machine and a good value. I expected a higher sale price. Jerry

I suspect fraud. The last feedback the seller has dates back to 2009; the only feedback as a seller is for 3 sales, of $40 chemistry books. The description, while short, clearly indicates that whoever wrote about it was knowledgeable. There is nothing in the seller's feedback to indicate he's a collector.

I know of at least one collector who tried several times to contact the seller but got no response.

In my opinion the ridiculously low price reflects buyers' doubts. For sure, the pictures appear to show an exceptional GG and as such it's worth easily twice that price. But it smells fishy.

I sent three eBay messages to the seller without a single response. No doubt this is a fraud. Hopefully the buyers figures it out before he sends his money.

There have been a few for sale in the past 5 years. The cheapest one I saw (all in excellent original condition) was $9K.

Maybe he/she was selling it for someone that does not have or desire having an EBay account? I sell things for my 91 year old Father-in-law, so what's the big deal? A great machine at a great price - that's the free market at its best.

Even if it were someone selling for a friend or relative, there's no reason for the seller to ignore questions. It's not hard to send a quick reply saying "it's my friend's machine, I'll ask him" or whatever.

The buyer seems to be a knowledgable phonograph collector. Perhaps he his a member of this forum and will tell us more when he picked it up. I have more than once bought a rare item for a good price because others were reluctant to take the risk.
