Re: victor victrola site down?
The site's been down for a couple of days now.
I called up a Google Cache version of the page, and at the bottom is this notice:
"IMPORTANT NOTE: The Victor-Victrola Page will be undergoing a major software update from December 2011 through March 2012 to make it compatible with all browsers and to become compliant with the latest web standards. During the update process, some elements of this site may not be functional, and there will be no updates to content. Effective December 1, 2011, the "Classified Listings" section will be temporarily removed. The Victrola Database submission process and all restoration and appraisal services will remain fully active, but response times may be slower than usual. Classified listings will again become available once the site upgrade is complete early next year. Thanks for your patience during this process!"
Hopefully, that's all it is.

This site appears to be down again. Can anyone confirm, or is it just me?

I get the same thing... Looks like too many people hit the site this month.
The purchase of a Genuine Victrola closes the Avenue of Future Regret.

I'm wondering if you are getting a cached version on your system.
When on a victor-victrola page, try holding the "shift" key, and refresh the page.
Please let us know what you get. Thanks!

Re: victor victrola site down?
tomwil,: yes, that seems to be what's happening. When I refresh the page I get this message:
http://www.victor-victrola.com Temporarily Unavailable
This account has surpassed its bandwidth allocation at the present time. You may reach the account administrator at [email protected]
When I click on the URL in brianu's post at the top of this thread, I get right to the site, and the buttons still work, although I haven't tried them all. At least the product info is still available while the site is upgraded, at least for now.
When I click on the URL in the quote above, I also get right to the site (or cache, whatever).

Re: victor victrola site down?
I am getting the bandwidth message only even if I refresh. I am already having withdrawal symptoms.
