It is labeled as the "Angelograph" built by the New York Phonograph Company in Elmira N.Y. That is the only identifying mark on it. It looks very similar to other upright cabinet models I've seen on here, and I'm betting it was built with available standard mechanicals and specifications, in a locally finished cabinet. It's nicely done but not exceptional, and unfortunately, amateurly refinished, I believe with polyurethane

I just wondered if any of you have heard of this company, or if it was one of a thousand similar local small businesses of the day. I also wondered where I would look to try and date it. I'm guessing numbers on the motor or some such.
Thanks for any help. I hope to expand my collection a little in the future. It takes in all sorts of early 20th century machines, from the phonograph, to a Singer sewing machine, to a gas-powered Maytag washer, to an Underwood No.5 Typewriter, to a Triumph TR2 sportscar.... I just enjoy old mechanical things and old music too ,so this is a perfect fit. I'm keeping an eye open for an Edison cylinder machine when I find one for the right price

I'll try to get pictures this weekend and post them.
Itried to post this before I registered, so if it gets OKed and double posted I apologize.
