Interesting that it was ever issued on a scroll, since it was surely recorded well into the '30s, IOW well past the acoustic era. I guess there were still plenty of Orthophonic phonos around, though, so maybe the scroll was aimed at that market.

Interesting that RCA re-used the Orthophonic designation for their 'New Orthophonic' 78's in 1954. New Orthophonics were made to be played with the RIAA EQ curve.

I must confess, I still don't know exactly what that word means. What it's definition is... :D

"Ortho" = "correct," "phonic" = "sound." Greek roots.

The scroll label lasted until 1937, so the very first (single) issue of this record was possibly on that label. My album set has RCA (circle) labels.

I've never either seen a copy of the B. Berigan I Can't Get Started on a scroll.
