one thing I noticed on all Indian crap-o-phones I have seen is no matter the horn style or style of case or even if they have been distressed with logo or parts missing is that they are easily identified by: 1.rarely does the soundbox swing anywhere near the TT spindle and 2. the HMV logo crap-o-phones have a very distinct, non-victor looking handle on the winding shaft that, more often than not these days, are made of plastic that has mould seams in them instead of being made of wood.

I know these two things are hard to see in some photos but it is quite telling in most, especially the shape of the knob at the end of the winding shaft.

Even in the attachment drawing posted by gramophoneshane on this topic you can see that the reproducer on this very model doesn not come close to the TT spindle because the picture was drawn by someone looking at the actual model!! lol

I feel the need to edit this post to add for all of you who may get a chuckle and think, "He speaks as if he actually bought one of these! hehehe!"
The answer is... nope, they sell these, actually this model in question, on Amazon.com and I read the feedback from people who actually bought these. Real horror stories of the needle dragging across the back of a record because the arm was too short!! OUCH!
