My wonderful Gramophone

This is my beautiful gramophone, it runs beautifully and only has alittle damage on its lid. I don't know much about it, other than it is a his masters voice table gramophone.
Anyone have any information?

I was made in England & should sound good once restored. The outside of the cabinet appears to be in pretty poor condition though, and the grille cloth looks like a replacement.
I guess the information you are looking for is value so you can sell it?

Hey, Thanks for the reply the cabinet isn't in to bad a condition, i think the flash made it look bad, here is another picture, the lid has some water damage but that doesn't seem that hard to fix.
I would like a value but i really love it.

What you have is an HMV 130 gramophone, circa 1930/early 1930s. There are quite a number of online references to this model including a few posts made on this forum, as well as youtube videos.

These are among the best sounding table top gramophones ever made, and are well worth restoring.

These come up for sale quite often on sites such as eBay, though I haven't tracked prices lately.

That's a nice gramophone. The only thing that's bothering me is that the sound box looks to be tilted to the left. It shouldn't the tilted at all.

it looks as if the back part of the tonearm is tilting forward causing the soundbox to tilt left
you should really get that sorted, it cannot be good for records nor sound quality

yes, i thought something was a little wrong with it, how do i fix it, can i do it myself??

It may not be tilted at all but may just be an illusion from the camera angle. If it is, in deed tilted, it is usually a failed sound box connection to the tone arm which will cause it to tilt. A new isolator will fix it if it is bad.

I've posted this before but it's never out of place. I don't have the brochure myself. This is from the old Talking Machine Review International magazine. I think the 130 is such a handsome machine.
