I don't normally post my digitization of vinyl transfers done by others, but I had this up for some friends, and thought some others might like to download it (actually 2 zip files). I have tweaked the EQ and performed some light declicking with ClickRepair.
The album is from 1979, 3 Lps-worth, and has some really nice stuff. It's a good complement to the recent Mosaic 8-CD album of Coleman Hawkins, since that includes much more of the '40s stuff, but none at all of the mid-'30s European recordings owned by EMI, which the Time-Life album has much of.
Here are the 2 zips I've uploaded (177 MB total):

Thank you, that's great stuff! I have the Ellington album of that series on two 8-track tapes but never got around to digitize them so far.

If you like the European records by the Bean, you should also check out the recordings he made with the Dutch 'Ramblers' orchestra for Decca. They are superb. Harry Coster made an LP in the late 70s (on Grannyphone IIRC) using the original metal parts. The sound quality is fabulous, like an early 50s LP.
There may even be NOS copies of that album available. I will check that later today.

A number of these Dutch Deccas are included in this Time-Life set...

Re: Coleman Hawkins (Time-Life Giants of Jazz series)
Thanks for the heads up! Those Time-Life 'Giants Of Jazz' boxes are mainstays of the cheap used LP bins, along with all those other (endless, and often worthless) big band box sets.
If I know this one is high quality, I'll pick one up next time I see it.
The Hawk is my favorite jazz saxophone player.
