Lead anyone??

I do know that Ediphone blanks are devoid of lead, so they are pretty safe. I do not know the formulations for Dictaphone, Standard, United dictation blanks. There is a very good chance that these other companies used a red lead oxide based formula, from ½-1%. . I think that shaving these larger format cylinders down to standard size would produce a lot of swarf and may pose a health risk.
