Recent Find: Regina Hexaphone

Post by Jerry B. »

Last week there was a craigslist ad for a Regina Hexaphone for $195. I immediately sent a reply but several days went by and I didn't hear from the seller. I speculated that it was a joke or a mistake and dismissed the whole thing as a fluke. Yesterday I received a call saying I was welcome to take a look at it but the price was increased from $195 to between $2500 and $3500. Evidently the seller received many emails from people with nothing but the purist intentions suggesting the machine was worth much more than the original asking price. I was not interested in an auction so I asked if the machine was for sale or was I expected to make an offer. I was told it was for sale so I jumped in my car and headed for Monmouth, OR which is about 45 minutes from home. I asked for their bast cash price and accepted. The photos show what I purchased.

Congratulations Jerry!!!!!
That's a great find.
You Ducks fans have all the luck.
The Hexaphone restoration should keep you out of trouble with Dee Dee for a little while.
I hope you didn't get her a new ash tray for Valentine's Day.

Wow Jerry! That just proves that there are still some great finds out there waiting to be discovered. Did the seller provide any history as to how he came to own it?

I saw that same Craigslist ad, and it was just down the road from me, but I knew Jerry would be on it so I left it alone. Good going, Jerry - that machine is in good hands now.

Left it alone? I would be cutting that orange Ford Mustang off the road, Ben-Hur style, to get to that one!!! hehe
