Cameo Kids records. How old?

Post by marcapra »

I bought an Edison C-4 1929 radio/phono and in the bottom of the record storage compartment I found some 7" 78s made by Cameo Kids. Can anyone date these? I read in American Record Labels that Cameo records were discontinued in 1931, so I guess Cameo Kids would predate that year.

Thanks for that info. It dates the records to the 1920s which I suspected. I also found out from that record label book that Cameo Kid started in 1924. Among my Cameo Kid records there was one with the same type label design called Uncle Wiggley who is a rabbit. I think Uncle Wiggley records were made by Cameo Kid, but I can find no research on that label.
