1928 Victrola 9-54

I have a 1928 Victrola VE-9-54 with the second type Victor record changer. On the lower left of the radio controls are the radio Volume and Sensitivity controls. The upper is Sensitivity and the lower is radio volume, but not ON/Off. On the lower right is the radio tuning dial. On the upper controls are the Record Volume, Start and Stop push buttons, and a Radio/Phono switch. Does anyone know where, or if, this model has a ON/Off switch. If it does, I can't find it.

There should be a switch on the side that looks like toogle switch flipper sometimes victor got smart with these machines and put them in tricycle places my grandfather had the re 57 really nice machine u hope you find it man

According to the instructions, the radio is turned on by switching the Radio-Record switch to Radio. The radio is turned off by switching back to Record. The phonograph is turned on by again switching to Radio until the tubes warm up, then switching to Record and pressing Start. You could start the phonograph simply by pressing Start, but you wouldn't hear anything for the first thirty seconds. The phonograph and amplifier are turned off by pressing Stop.

Some of the Victor - Radiola combos do have the power switch on the side of the cabinet, as a toggle-switch that is recessed into the side of the cabinet - my Radiola 47 is one such machine.

I can tell all of you that this machine has no toggle switch. Silvertone, I think you got it right. You must have owned one or have access to the owner's manual. And since my phonograph is not hooked up yet those controls don't work yet. Thanks again Silvertone!
