Victor V Spring Barrel Motor question

Post by Ripduf1 »

Hi,
Is the first (double cut Gear) spring barrel on a Victor V motor the same spring barrel and gear as on a double cut Victor I, II, III, IV?

How about L door XVI?

If yes does anybody have one of these in the "bone yard"? I have a bent gear on my V.

Thanks in advance.
John

The gear on your V is the same as that on any double cut 3 spring motor. I don't know if a barrel/gear from a 2 spring motor would work or not. That said, it is possible to change these over to early quad cut gears if you already have the parts. It will run more quietly, but originality will suffer. If you could post a picture of the damage to the gear, someone might have an idea of how you could salvage it.
