What I have here is a 1908 Columbia BC Graphophone.
In fact it is the "actual" BC from the former Ernie Bennett collection, Higham reproducer restored by Reid Welch in 1984, and highlighted on pages 74, 75, & 145 in the Eric Reiss book "The Complete Talking Machine".
I was extremely fortunate to acquire this machine a few years back via some "horse trading" with Raphael Cole of Musical Treasures of Miami. It is an amazing machine producing the greatest volume of sound of any 2min. machine that I have ever heard!
I have paired it up with a matching Columbia Cylinder cabinet of the same time period. The cylinder cabinet has 216 numbered pegs and contains 216 VG or better, 2min. Albany Indestructible cylinders.
It also comes with it’s original Columbia (S-1) 24” x 36” horn and original Columbia stand.
Like many collectors my interests are evolving, and I am currently pursuing early disc machines. Time to let this one go to a good home.
The price is *SOLD*. It can only be picked up, or I can deliver to Union for free.
Thank You, Bob S. (please contact me via email).

Not many BCs play that well, in my personal experience. Wow!
What is the name of the march that you played on the video? I *must* find a copy of that record!

Reid Welch did an amazing job restoring the Higham reproducer. It probably plays every bit as well as when new, if not better! The interesting thing is that it plays wax 2min. records just as well, and because of the long mandrel, will even play the rare 6" "Twentieth Century" 3min. wax records. Not many BCs play that well, in my personal experience. Wow!

The record is Albany Indestructible #974.BAND.STAND PAT MARCH.
Glad you like it, Bob S.

Wow the video is well done and it sounds impressive. I bet it's really something in person.
