If space is a consideration at all, the 30 has quite a small footprint. I have mine on a small table that's intended to hold a potted plant or a small lamp. Compare that to my 50, which takes up most of an end table by itself.

My impression is that the 50 is a bit louder, but I've never done any real side-by-side comparison.

One thing I find to be better on the 50 is the quality of the cabinet. The 30 is prone to veneer damage and/or loss on the lid. I don't think I've ever seen a 50 with that kind of problem.

George, thanks for the correction. I have worked on both machines and never noticed the difference!

OK.......If you live in a nice mansion like George, go with the 50. If you live in a little cave condo like me, go with the 30.

Ain't it the truth. As time goes by I spend more and more time trying to figure out where there is a space where I can possibly squeeze in that "just one more"!

Thanks for the mention, Bruce. Yes, I make a replacement diaphragm and link assembly for the Edison Diamond amberola reproducers. The same design will fit the Diamond A, B, C, and probably D models. I also have designs for the Diamond Disc reproducers (all variations) and for the models L, M, and O reproducers. You can hear my diaphragms in some of Valecnik's YouTube videos.
