Very nice find. I've always assumed there are at least three different cabinets. I had the earlier model with the stepped base and slotted crank. I sold it when I found a cabinet like yours. Congrats again. A very nice player.

1904? 1904 would have been a Monarch, labelled "M", with one of the noisy little brass bevel gear motors.

The spiral drive motors were not introduced until 1906. The diamond catches appeared in 1907 or 1908, depending upon model.

Valencik's machine appears to be either a 1906 or 1907 machine.
