What do I drive???......well, my Wife crazy buying Gramophones, etc.....

Just bought a Prius V. Bought that model specifically for the copious cargo space.

I drive a 1999 Olds Cutlass with the rear seat cushion removed. It has a fold down back seat cushion with access to trunk. I can easily carry small orthophonic units, vv 4-3 and 4-7 size in the rear passenger area and larger consoles such as a VV 4-4 in the trunk with straps.
Anything larger I bring out the big gun, my 1959 Edsel. Trunk capacity is Credenza sized.

I've had Ford Windstar minivans since they came out in 1994. I'm on my fourth one, a 2002 with 130K+ miles on it. Take out the rear seats and you can carry anything back there. The biggest phono load I can remember carrying was a Columbia 800 and a Borgia II with plenty of room to spare. It has a towing setup, so if I buy too much to put in the van I can always go to the nearest Uhaul and rent the extra space. Unfortunately, Ford doesn't make anything quite like it any more so you would need to go with Chrysler or Honda.

I drive a Suzuki Forenza Wagon. For a small car, it can hold a lot, even a Credenza, though tight. It gets great gas mileage, too.

My 1947 Morris and 1956 Armstrong Siddeley, which are pictured elsewhere, occasionally transport portables to car shows.
Our only modern car is my wife's Daihatsu Sirion, which BELIEVE IT OR NOT transported a complete Expert Senior successfully. All the seats except the driver's had to be lowered, and it only just fitted.
I wish I had thought to photograph this epic adventure.
Last weekend the car had it easy. An Amberola 50, three display cases for needles and a small quantity of records!
