homemade gramophone help

Am listening to one of those gramophones just as I write this. It has to be the ultimate acoustic reproduction. There can't be anything as painstakingly and skilfully done anywhere else, right down to the screws in the motorboard. Breathing life into the exponential horn gramophones once again is the most wonderful gift for those of us addicted to this kind of thing.
As somebody who is not at all mechanically minded though, it's enjoyable to read the threads of someone who has taken up the adventure of building their own gramophone. Good on you. Do keep us all posted.

Absolutely! Since I got my Expert Junior earlier this year (and then tracked down a couple of original soundboxes) it has astonished and enthralled many friends, as well as me! EMGs and Experts when they're really "on song" are utterly spellbinding.

Good luck with the project Alex - I've always wanted to have a go at something similar, and still might one of these days! Ideally I'd like another fine-sounding exponential machine that I can take out and about for lecture-demonstrations and other public events, but which isn't so precious.
