Re: Is this the end for HMV?

I used to go into HMV every week, but I do not think I have been into one of their shops during the last decade. They were always overpriced (except for some sale items). The internet offers far better choice, and easier ability to listen before buying, smarter recommendations, and keener prices. For me, it was a delight to no longer need to visit a record shop in order to obtain CDs. (I would be happier still if internet shops selling to the UK were paying their taxes in the UK!)
However, I still love to flick through vinyl and shellac in the real world whenever the opportunity arises. Condition is vital, postage is expensive, and random discovery is a delight, so "being there" is a huge benefit. Especially when buying by the car-full!
