Several years ago I found an advert in the Minneapolis paper reading something like. "Edison phonograph guts for sale". I called the person found out that "the guts" were for an EDISON C2 Radio Phonograph. I was even more interested to learn that the guts were still in the cabinet as were the four original albums!
The owner, a college student just a few years younger than I, had decided to install his modern turntable and amp in the cabinet. Of course I begged him to let me buy the whole thing. I said I'd even try to find him a more suitable, cabinet for his stereo as part of the deal.
He would not be swayed. In the end I got the chassis, motor board, turntable, speaker, tonearm etcetera along with the four books...
