Edison A150 cabinet

Nice case. They are tall! Mine doesn't have casters. Just little nail holes on the bottoms of the legs. Did you addd casters, or, am I missing something significant? Mine is mahoganny. I like yours better.

What are the chances of finding one in oak so I could put my works from my cut down Amberola 3 in it?
Right now, this case is very unstable due to broken shelf, and, unglued pegs all over the place.
Started repairs this morning.

If you try to drop an Amberola works in it you are going to have some problems.
- Matching numbers on mechanism and cabinet that no longer match
- Motor mounts and crank hole would need to be redrilled
- Extra hole for horn pivot would remain
- Possibly more

That lift lever mechanism tends to get gummed up. You should be able to take it apart, clean it and polish with steel wool. Then the rest is just playing around to get the adjustments correct.


Here are some detailed pics that may help you. This one has no casters. I've anothe with casters and have seen Amberolas III both with and without casters too.

Thanks for the info, guys. I didn't see two sets of holes, but, I'll look. I know the pot metal bearing was also giving me trouble. Wish there was a better picture of that B150. Does it look the same as the A150?
What are the differences in the two? I wish that dealer hadn't gutted it. I might not even have an A150 now. I just don't know what's going on....
It was moldy, and, got it cleanned off, and, boy, did it stink until I used my Scott's liquid Gold, and, then, polished it. Only temporary to make it look better. Finnish is highly alligatored......

Guys, thanks for the help!!!!
I took bracket back down, and, found those extra holes you were talking about. With difficulty, I got it mounted. Unfortunately I added to the dammage with inside wood scratches, and, still adjusting things like bent brake levers, etc., but, it is now playing BEAUTIFULLY!!!!!!!!!!

Next month, I'll purchase the repro. grill for it, and, do more cabinet work. I'm just thrilled that I now have a complete cabinet, and, it's playing great!!!

The difference between the A and B 150, the B has the B mechanism, it has the tab over type spring barrels, the horn is one piece and black, with gold plated parts instead of oxidized, it has the green felt volume control ball. The bed plate has the diamond about the speed warning, and the lift lever is black instead of mahogany or oak.

Nice and nice selection, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" by Raderman's Orch. My 8 year old daughter calls that "The Sweetheart Song". From time to time she asks me to play it and we dance to it.

Your Edison sounds fine! That is an Edisonic reproducer, yes? Didn't expect that on your particular machine - it's quite a bonus.

Actually, I think it's a Dance reproducer. I originally put it on temporarily, but, it plays so nicely I've decided to leave it on.
I think it came out pretty well. I have a little more cleanning to do, and, have to get the repro grill, but, other than that, I'm calling it a total success.

Don't kinow why you couldn't see the picture. It shows fairly clearly for me, and, others said they could see it fine.
Might be your computer is missing a codec which is not allowing video, but, is allowing sound. Been there, done that......
