Only three?? I own 7 Wind up disc machines, including four Edison.
My favorite, by far is my A150. Please see my thread here on it. I now have the insied boards mounted in it. I think it's a great sounding machine.
I like the case style, also.
I have two small Victor Orthophonic machines.
I have played electric DD records on my A150, and, it sounds fantastic!!

In all honesty, after owning a Brunswick Mod.117 with the Ultona Soundbox, that would be my choice for a solitary disc machine as it played all of the current media fairly well. Rebuilding the soundbox was a challenge, but worth it in the long run. Not to mention the mellow sound from the spruce wood horn.
Sadly, this was one of those machines that "went away" to make room for what I suppose was an upgrade to the collection.

That's a tough call. If I was only allowed one machine, That would be my Late Victor IV from 1913. It has the smooth wood horn. It still has the bullet brake, and the gears have the finely cut teeth. The motor is very quiet. It has the slip in elbow so the horn can be positioned without the restrictions of the earlier machines. I have an adapter to play Pathé and Edison records. That way I can enjoy all records on one machine.

I must agree with "Coyote" in choosing the VV 8-12...great style , a big enough orthophonic horn , and a lid that doesn't weigh a ton , and you can close with one hand , and not have to wait for the air dampeners to shut it...It's the one that I use the most

I would have to say my top three would be the Edison Chalet B-19 with the lateral adapter, Victrola VV-IX or Victor Orthophonic (Japanese) VV- J-80 table top machine.
My final decision would be the Victor Orthophonic (Japanese table model) since the soundbox has been restored, the sound is like that of a good AM radio.
of course the order would be the Edison Chalet and then the VV-IX.

One of the biggest Victor orthophonics. Credenza would be fine. But the 10-35 sounds almost as good and is an intermix changer, so it's much more fun. If I had the room, I might rather have a 10-50 which has a touch better bass. But it's a toss-up between the two changer models. But I'm lucky - I have all three.
Of the machines in my collection I would definitely keep my Brunswick 35 with the ultona reproducer because I could play all my records and I think it would be the most difficult to replace. Then when my machines start multiplying again, I would still have records for them.
