Sig Hahn purchased a considerable quantity of Diamond Disc phonograph cabinets from the Edison company in late 1927. These cabinets occsasionally turn up fitted with cheap imported motors thin plywood horns and Oro-Tone tone arms and reproducers. The mahines were sold with "Player-Tone", "Saxophonic" and "Phonola" decals, among others. Most machines of this sort that have turned up were in S-19 cabinets, but William and Mary and Chippendale consoles so branded are not unknown.Beehtoven Edisonic cabinets sold under the Saxophonic lbrand were offered in the Pittsburgh Post- Gazette in late 1928.

Thanks for the information Uncle Vanya!
sounds like Player-Tone’s quality went down hill after Sig Hahn bought them out in 1926.

About the Type 110:
Does anyone else feel rather dubious about that machine? It certainly would
not have sold for $95 (their stated minimum price): the horn assembly looks to be off a toy phonograph....... and that crank.........?

Good point Bill, the Type 110 is a mystery to me as well. The minimum price listing is from 1919; perhaps they made cheaper machines later on. This was advertised as a child’s phonograph on eBay.

Player-Tone phonograph playing Paul Whiteman's classic ‘Whispering-Fox Trot’ recorded on August 23, 1920.
