Did the seller send you additional picture of the machine before you purchased it?
The pictures on the website are horrible.
As a responsible seller, he should be offering good quality images and make sure all
deficiencies are pointed out in them. Obviously some things may get missed or may not
stand out as much to him, but that doesn't sound like what the OP is describing.
Sorry I was a bit slow about posting pictures, but here are some photographs of the Lumiere - unfortunately I don't have the ones that were on the website, but looking at these would you have paid 2200 euros for a machine in this condition?

thanks for the photos... obviously, to better appreciate the issue you're claiming to have with this dealer, it would be a huge help to see the other shots that you don't have, being for comparison purposes the ones from his web site that convinced you to spend that 2200 in the first place.
also, how about a photo or two of the whole thing?
and are many of the veneer panels/tiles lifting like that?
it looks eerily similar to one I saw at the wayne NJ phonograph show about a year or so ago. it was the same model in the same condition, with a lot of lifting veneer and some fairly serious wearing and tearing to the diffusor (or whatever the technical term would be). it also had a broken spring. I passed on it for 600, then changed my mind an hour later but by then it had sold to someone from europe (that's all the seller, a NC dealer, could tell me).
if this damage wasn't apparent in the photos or disclosed by the dealer, I'd probably be pretty upset, too. but if there's ever any uncertainty before you buy, you should ask any and every question you can.
the sixth photo from the top shows the hmv. the asking price for that one, the one I was referring to, was 775 (US), but at the end of the show, the seller offered it to me for a good deal less. by the time I decided to buy it though, it had just sold to a guy from holland.
maybe compare that photo to yours - I'd be curious if they're one and the same machine.
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I had seen the exact photos of this machine, just that the quality of the
photos on the website were poor and didn't offer much detail.
No my machine is not the one in the photos from the october 2011 wayne NJ show - it has´nt been sprayed on the diaphragm and is´nt in that good condition. Yes most all the panels are lifting and coming apart, the goldplating virtually gone. I don´t have any overall picture of the machine with me (in Spain for a few weeks more) but when I get back to Stockholm I´ll post some!
As for the pictures from Mr Nootenbaums website/store it could have been any of them - yes they were all poor quality and a just slightly blurred like the ones posted above. Still - there is no way one could have blurred the condition my machine is in... and there is no way I´d have bought it for that price. Thanks for the advice: I´m actually going to contact authorities in Holland and see what can be done legally, I´ve nothing to loose!
