Gene,

The machines didn't quite measure up to the pictures shown on the auction listing.

The Opera was refinished OK, bed plate was repainted OK, from a distance it looked good, up close it left something to be desired. Sold for $4000

The Concert was dropped at some point and busted the case in half right above the drawer. Must have landed on the rear edge of the base as that was all rebuilt badly. Still it sold for $2200

The Columbia BS was the most complete and best condition of all the machines, all coin parts were there, correct horn and elbow, sold for $3900

The GEM was nice except for the key, it sold for $750

I bought the Columbia AF for $1250, has a few hurts but more than a reasonable price for this model, also got 28 Concert cylinders for $85/ea.

The auctioneer couldn't get $5 apiece for the blue amberols so he put them back in the cabinet and sold them all with the cabinet for one money $1400

Did the same with the brown wax cylinders, but I don't know what it brought.

No buyers premium and no tax, don't see many of these auctions anymore.

Chuck

Good score. Got all 73 brown wax cylinders.. They were very nice mould free cylinders. Also got about 30 concert cylinders, mixes Edison and Columbia. Also got two black Lambert concert cylinders. Finally a box of reproducers, C's, Automatics, a model B, a incomplete Mobley, and some recorders. All in all a good day.
