They are all the same machine. Photo #8 has a different exposure, but if you look at the grain especially on the pull out shelf, you'll see it's the same machine.

I also agree that they are the same machine... but I still have a question about the motor board. In picture #5, the wood grain is clearly oak.

Does anyone know if in the circassian walnut version it was common practice to use a motor board of a wood other than that found in the rest of the cabinet, or if the motor board was just swapped out?

Tink- what you are seeing is the underside of the motor board, I'd bet that the top has walnut veneer.

I suggest you contact Mr. Baumbach (author of 'Look for the Dog') he works with another person and will offer a fee based (not expensive) appraisal service, unfortunately on this computer I don't have his contact information.

Your machine photographs well; and appears to have an interesting ornate burl design - in short your machine has style!

Tink's question about the use of wood is a good one. It's my belief that any highly visible veneer was always Circassian but areas not quite as visible, such as the parts drawer or the deck were a more common mahogany (I think) that were stained to color match the walnut. Jerry
