That shows you how bad my memory is getting. I guess it was the nickel horn that was throwing me off. I also thought it was gold based. Thanks kurt

I was doing some entirely unrelated research and found the image below in a Zonophone machine catalog from 1904. I certainly didn't remember this being in there!

This shows that cabinets like these were being retailed by several firms, including Zonophone. Note that the Universal Talking Machine Mfg. Company (manufacturer of Zonophone) wasn't making these cabinets, but merely retailing them, just like Douglas - - and both were located in New York City, which may be a clue as to the actual manufacturer.

What a great discovery George. It shows that many were on the band wagon with this. As you speculate...it may have been a well known cabinet maker in the NY area that did these for several companies..????. Also thanks....I just realized I made a boo-boo... I meant to write "possibly" reatailed by Douglas... :oops:. My bad.
