If only it were that easy. It is more of a rounded end with a flat spot for the screw. I have attached photos from my machine.

Since were talking Zonophone here's a very late Zonophone ad which appeared in June 1909.

That's interesting. The machine pictured seems to resemble the Royal Grand, but the artist put the decal on the crank side instead of the front. Gotta make sure everyone sees it's a Zonophone machine

Since this ad is from 1909 it brings up an interesting question: did American Zonophone ever switch to the Victor style gooseneck tonearm like the International Zonophone Co in Europe, or did they stay with the straight tapered tonearm until they were discontinued in 1912? I've seen several European Zonophones with the gooseneck arm, but do not recall ever seeing it on US Zonophones.

Just wanted to show a few pictures of how the Grand Opera looks now. It took me quite a while to find a good wood turner to create a correct replacement column. Can you spot it? The turntable felt cleaned up quite nicely. Still need a correct crank, tonearm pin and locking screw, and of course a nice horn. Any leads appreciated.
