Not easy to knock over as it has a box on the base that you should fill with sand / lead weights, so it has a low center of gravity!

Valecnik, you could be in the right place to find one as Bial & Freund were selling these in Bratislava (Pressburg) as you see from their catalog... Possibly also with the wrought iron extension & concert horn.

Here is an image of a G&T Pedestal I once owned. I found it in an antique store and had to go back and get it. Good thing I even had a clue....I used it under my Victor 6 which fit beautifully. I have seen this cabinet in black but this was the first and only one I have seen in Mahogany. This model has eyelets installed (on the back in this view)and may have had or similar ironwork visible in an image placed earlier in this topic.

The stand shown in a previous post with the big horn is decorated on 3 sides, with the side where the wrought iron attaches being plain. I have seen the Melba stands, like yours, in advertising with the concert horn attachment. Never one live with the concert horn.

I have a Paillard Swiss catalog from 1913-14 ("Apollo" for the UK market)and there is one record cabinet in the very back. Paillard also sold under the Maestrophone name outside England.

This machine belonged to the great Adelina Patti, and is beleived to have been presented to her by the Gramophone Company. A cynic might observe that this was a good way of disposing of a machine which was difficult to sell, and the resulting publicity would have done the company no harm.

It was later purchased by a local man at the sale of Craig-Y-Nos Castle's contents in 1920, and his descendents donated it to the National Museum of Wales. It is now in the collection of the Museums and Galleries of Wales, Museum of Welsh Life, St.Fagans.

Excellent to see a model with its original wrought iron bracket! Thanks for posting the picture.
