True. I'm amazed at how many a seller has made it clear that the machine still has an original needle! When I tell them to throw it out because it was only meant to be used once, they look at me like I'm a complete idiot!

I was curious as to how bad a Victrola damages vinyl records so I tried playing some of my god awful ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ records from the 1980s (honestly, those things belong in a landfill). The heavy needle compresses the soft vinyl groove and completely destroys the fidelity. I must admit though, those records never sounded so good! :lol:
