I was going to recommend that you buy the Victrola RE-45. Even though it came out in 29, it is still a product of the Victor Talking Machine Co., not RCA. I'd better check my facts on that, but I don't think RCA owned Victor until after the RE-45 was created. I used to own one and it was great. George Epple rebuilt the pickup and I highly recommend him. He is a pro's pro, but very specialized to magnetic pickups. So he's the best in the world. The Re-45 is a very handsome set too. It is common and it's easy to find lots of 1929 color ads for it on Ebay. One thing I've found about antique radios is that the 29 models are easier to restore that the 28's and back. but as you just found out, the RE-45 is very heavy. Much heavier than a Credenza. If your speaker is good and the pickup is rebuilt, these RE-45s and 75s can have great sound. And again, the RE 45 is a great looking set!

Could you let me have contact details for George Epple please as I need this done for one of my machines. Could you either PM me or add to this thread please?
I just had my C-4 pickup done by George. I will PM you with his contact info.
