There's no question the lid interiors of both machines are original. Thee's also no question the Saccente example is more elaborate than the eBay offering (in addition to the record storage doors, note the area above the sound doors, which is repeated on all sides). I wonder how many models of the Piramida were offered. I've never seen any catalogs or ads for the brand.

OK, so somebody made a really lame attempt at phony wood-graining a stripped cabinet. What a pity; the original, however it was decorated, must surely have been preferable to this botched job!

The machine name was filed in 1919, and the design followed in 1920. Notice in these two versions the varying levels of trim. I am nearly certain that these were indeed offered in different decorative schemes.

One drawback:
You
must play
ONLY Egyptian-themed records on it ("Old King Tut", "Cleopatra", "The Crocodile" etc.), lest you fall victim to the Pyramida Curse, where your house is infested with shellac-eating locusts….

Does anybody recognize the tone-arm and auto=stop mechanism ?
I think I 've seen that auto-stop on other "independent" machines, but can't remember which ones ?
At first I thought the tone-arm was SAAL, but am now steering-away from that...
Definitely one of the more unique "-olas"....

If your musical tastes are classical, there is always "Aida".
