Several months ago I came across a cache of gramophone parts , and one of these early crapophones was in this pile. It was a curious pile of scrap . The back bracket , tone arm , and horn elbow were sweat shop castings. very poorly done and of no reproduction value. The motor and reproducer were typical portable parts. The case as primitive solid wood . These pieces were so beat up that , to the average dealer , would look like a vintage barn find .The horn was another story. It was so old well made of thick brass ,and used a Victor like mount . Only little "Made in India" tags revealed its true origin. The stuff looked so old that it must be vintage . It almost fooled me. It is all junk , all except the horn , that's a keeper

I guess the crank is for winding up the missing electric motor? At least you get some wires with it.
