I think the same can be said for Canada. However, I'm sure there were cases where travelers, immigrants and war vets (WW1 & WW2) brought a Pathé back with them.
Early collectors who traveled to the UK or Europe may have also brought machines over to North America and are now floating around.
Still, a very small percent and few and far between.

CarlosV wrote:The Musical Treasures of Miami had up to recently some nice Pathé machines for sale in the US, you may want to contact Raphael and query. I can recommend him, having bought a large machine not so long ago, which arrived in Luxembourg in excellent shape, well crated and exactly as he described (rare quality amongst dealers).

The 2 he had recently have been sold to myself and a friend of mine. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask if he has any more though.

Not quite sure how "france,France" fits in North America.....???..... Up here, we have Quebec. It's almost "like" France.... ;).
Ah, Jeez. Don't go there, eh. LOL.
Actually, this has given me an idea. There still might be some surviving machines in Quebec, given the large French immigrant population. I shall make inquiries at the next CAPS meeting in the new year.
Once again, your responses are inspiring and informative. Thank you all.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this machine? I'm wondering about the authenticity of the platter and horn.

I think it will say Girard & Cie on the side. Turntable is correct. Horn not sure, does look not quite correct.

I'm pretty sure about most of the machine (the cabinet, arm and brackets) and thanks for the re-assurance on the turntable. I have to agree on the horn; in particular the suspicious joints. It does look a little suspect.

Of late I have had four Pathé outside horn phonographs, and they sold fairly quickly. I only have a few Pathé cylinder machines, and they are shown on my website. With 30 more phonos arriving tomorrow, it may be a while before I put the Pathés on eBay, but everything is available for direct purchase.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Thank you. That's a great site to ponder and dream!

I do believe that is also "not" a Pathé made machine. Looks like a "Victor" style arm on it.
