Also, the blended paint inside Cliff's H&S horn is original.

These horns were originally offered with a variety of decorations at slightly different prices. :)

Thanks George, that is really nice to know, I had always assumed "Gramps" put them there. The plot thickens! :)

On a side note, I've been paying close attention to the links you've so graciously mentioned and supplied. I have been reading through the "Talking Machine World 1905" that I found archived on http://mediahistoryproject.org/broadcasting/.

Amazing!

I have been mulling over in my mind what would have been used with ours, considering Grandpa's cabinet. The only thing I remember finding with it was a "wrought iron" floor standing lamp (with no shade and socket) and a short chain. I actually used the combination for a few years when I first brought them home. It worked fine, but the rubber "elbow" connector (it has a permanent bend in it) had been patched together with some sort of tape and subsequently failed. A friend gave me the witches hat that I've used since.

I've wanted to reincorporate the Morning Glory horn ever since, I just haven't thought of the exact correct crane configuration that will look appropriate and aesthetically pleasing.

That patent print has some good ideas for me to consider, thanks, something like that would be appropriate, I think.

I'll have to start gathering parts! :)

Finally got this machine running good. You can hear it on YouTube at:

It sounds great! Even playing an Irving Gillette cylinder. Cliff

This thread is exactly what I like about the TM Forum. People sharing their collections and others sharing their knowledge.

Thank you everyone.
