Pleased you like my website...........The miniature gramophones were quite hard to make but determination always wins!

Final note by way of greeting. Sheffield's university is one of the great ones too; has a strong archaeology program especially.

Some of my ancestral roots are in Derbyshire (Sutton family).

So, even though so many of us on this forum are Americans, quite a few among us know the UK as well as antique phonographs/gramophones, so you should find it very congenial here.

Very close by to us is the Abbeydale industrial hamlet which is an old industrial site with water powered tilt forge etc and workers cottages still stand.....................A truly wonderful step back in time! I am finding this forum very friendly and it is lovely to talk to other like minded friendly folks

Thankyou for sharing your collection on your website - that's quite a selection of web pages you've put together! The dolls houses are amazing.

I have some similar machines, though not as nicely on display. Your Gilbert, does it have a metal horn or a wooden one? Mine is metal, and is astonishingly loud. It adds a nice "presence" to the records, though it's better to listen in the next room.
