The serial numbering ran sequentially from the A-80 into the B-80. A-80 production ended and B-80 production began somewhere between No.4219 and No.4968. The highest B-80 number I've seen is No.16824.

Thanks! Cliff

More pics of the horn and play surface of the B-80. Haven't yet found another in oak, but they must be out there.

Also, here is a video of the first record I played after refurbishing the motor and horn:

Enjoy!

Cliff,

Your last post asked about other oak B-80's so I thought I would post pics of mine. This is a very striking cabinet, but my photos are just not good, bad camera, bad lighting. This machine plays very well and I have no trouble with it. The original belt just recently failed and I replaced it with new leather from Ebay, can't remember who I purchased from right now, but it is very good.

Good luck with yours. Thanks, Mike

PS- yes, that is a crap-o-phone behind the 80, sorry.

Thanks for your posting, Mike. Your B-80 (No.17530) just took the prize for the highest number I've seen! :)

Love those Diamond Disc Machines, I think I want one of the table top ones, to play on the sidewalk. On nice days I bring down machines and play them on the sidewalk, I live above a store on main street.

Great player you have there Cliff! It seemed strong and true, with no noticeable flutter. What was the name of the song you played?

That was Diamond Disc 51079-L featuring Billy Jones singing "HE LOVES IT" with Ernest Hare and chorus backing him up. The flip side is "YOU TELL HER I STUTTER" with Billy Jones and Ernest Hare.

Thanks George, how about that ! This is one of my favorite machines despite the small horn.
