Well, I went to the antique store to have a look. Very nice machine, but I was mistaken on the finish. It appears to have been re-finished sometime in the past. The seller was hard pressed to not budge off of $500. However, very close to it was an Edison C-250. Very nice finish (nice crazing with minor scratching) with a quiet motor and very nice sounding. Reproducer and crank (not shown) are in good shape as well. Out the door for $250. How did I do?

Fantastic, Scott! Personally, I would take the C-250 with a Duncan Stop over an ordinary C-19. And the price is a great deal!

Thanks again for your help.

Very good score !

I think you chose wisely. ;)

That grille cloth looks to be original; be VERY careful around it: in most cases these original fabrics will tear if you so much as look at it too hard...

Does the cloth have a slight shine to it, if you look at it from various angles ?

:coffee:

The cloth does seem to have that old cloth type of shine to. Almost looks like a sil er or gold thread woven into it.

I spent about 4 hours cleaning it with gojo and I couldn't believe how much dirt came off and how much richer the mahogany became. Huge difference. Thanks to all for the assist. I feel very good about this purchase.

Everything is up and running fine and the only thing I don't have is the cabinet key. I searched ebay for an Edison "E" key and it appears that the sellers are very proud of their keys. I also looked at the Double Dolphin keys (the one with the single groove) but would prefer and Edison key. Are the prices that they are asking the norm?

Thanks,
Scott
