De Soto Frank,
I had a Credenza for a few months last fall. I have had the 8-12 for a couple of years now. The Credenza definitely had better bass output and was a little louder. I used the ethanol/glycerin mixture mentioned on this board to moisten the Credenza's horn and did a better job sealing the tone arm base. That may account for some of the difference in sound, but I doubt that is responsible for all of it. The Credenza was larger than the 8-12 and, to me, less stylish and so I let it go (with the coaxing of my wife). One of my plans for the Summer is to work on the 8-12 horn and tone arm base.
