I'm guessing it is a lucky so & so who happened to be on ebay at the right time.
You know the kind of luck we all dream about until reality sets in and the very piece we were interested in was not only noticed by other collectors but they end up bidding way more than you wanted to.

Having been a college student in the 60s I can't say as I was a big fan of Johnson at the time. (Understatement.) But since then I have to give him props for some of his social achievements, notably civil rights and Medicare.
But aside from any politics, it's kind of cool to wear a watch with such unique provenance.
