Appears to have basically no horn at all. Looks like it has an opening next to rear of tone-arm for sound to come out.

Well, there couldn't be much there due to the shallowness of the depth of the top. A variation of the arrangement used in portables I guess.

Since it is a desk, I wonder if you were supposed to play spoken records and practice taking Spencerian-style dictation on the desk. Speaking of which, wasn't the Spencerian handwriting "invented" by Len Spencer's father?

It's really a table, but you can write on it just the same.

Yes, Len Spencer's father was the handwriting fellow. A lost art these days...
