Well, bummer and congratulations, George! Makes me wonder what it was played on. Was it used on a D.D. machine with an adapter? You'll never know for sure, but what a neat experience! I hope you discover some more great recordings.

George,
A wonderful lesson in never getting too disappointed, because you never know what opportunities and surprises the near future might hold.
I'll simply say, "It couldn't happen to someone more deserving."

The kind comments are much appreciated, gentlemen!
I must admit that - rightly or wrongly - I don't value the Emerson Caruso very highly in monetary terms. (Maybe I'm wrong; I've never seen one for sale.) Be that as it may, it's undoubtedly an interesting record.
The part that gets me is that there were TWO copies in that group of Diamond Discs. Had I found one copy - broken or otherwise - in that group, I wouldn't have posted it. It would have been a nice find, but I don't typically post nice finds unless they're outstanding or have a good story behind them. I thought the appearance of TWO Emerson Caruso discs in a place they had no business being made for a good story. Even the order in which they appeared: broken one first...
I think the story is better than the discs!
Thanks again,
George P.
