Congrats. I'm looking forward to more photos. If just the lacquer is flaking off and the paint is OK underneath, I've heard of one of these machines being stripped of its lacquer and re-lacquered. The one I saw photos of many years ago looked nice under what looked a mess. My machine could probably be spiffed up a little, but I've left it as is after just some gentle cleaning. I've seen a few of these over the years, a couple on eBay and a couple in collections. Some of them held up very well and others have been pretty rough.

When I saw it I couldn't just not buy it.
lets see if it takes longer to for me to bring up the courage to restore it or somehow magically find one in better shape.

I want to keep the machine as original as I can
About 3 sides of the machine may be passable if the I relacquer it, I am still not sure if it was lacquer actually.
but due to the chipping lacquer alot of the color are spotty and fading. I don't know if its possible to strip the lacquer without fading the painting even more? Its going to take quite of bit of experimenting lol
