Yep. I wondered about that. The big round one at the top works best, but the other one works, too.

Maybe it's a Herzog.... when in doubt..... . Curious why the ID plate looks like it was hit by acid or...???.

What good fortune finding all the motor parts there! It sounds really good and should look good too once the case is spiffed up a little. Do you know what is causing that turntable wobble?

That is a very nice job on the machine. Looks like you were able to save the original finish. I agree with OrthoSean to keep the original finish. It is that I have had some really bad finishes on my finds. My Magnola was actually painted chocolate brown and there was no choice but to refinish it.

Nice machine and nice cabinet! One great find.

Not yet. I was kind of anxious to see it play so I just stuck the motor in and cranked it up. I'm thinking this might not be the original turntable as it is nickel plated. Should be gold...?

The nickel is correct. Victor did not gold plate the turntable rims of machines employing a bullet brake, nor higher-end Victrolas from the teens.

I expect it should. Gold plated hardware on Victors usually includes the turntable edge.

Yep. They were also used on some early post bullet brake models. My 1913 VVXVI uses one as well despite having the newer type brake. I've seen several others from the same vintage with nickel turntables as well.

It looks like the turntable is warped. I think the fellow who originally disassembled the motor used a hammer and pry bar for the stuff that wouldn't come apart easily. The spindle top shows evidence of repeated hammering so I'd guess the turntable was stuck on and got bent while trying to pry it off.

The spring winding shaft had mushroom heads on both ends, as well. Had to grind those down before I could get it back together. I'm thinking I should be able to 'unbend' the turntable that same way it got bent. I have an extra spindle to use for that.
