I have a Model a Edison Business Phonograph, The same model as yours, Model D, but your Business Phonograph is bizarre. I have never seen one like it. The entire carriage arm is bizarre, and so is the rear feedscrew assembly and rear carriage rod. It may have been something experimental! The Edison Business Phonograph is supposed to have a spectacle type recorder/reproducer holder that swivels from left to right and right to left...vice versa. You have nothing like that on yours. Also, You have a Model "H" 4-minute reproducer which is not on the Business Machine. The Business machine has its own type reproducer and recorder. I really don't know what your machine was retrofitted for, but someone did it a very long time ago. Again, as others will state here, Your machine is weird! It's a mysterious freak...!
My Edison Business Phonograph Model "D" looks just like the one at this weblink below, but has the "Edison" decal on the front instead of the older "Banner" decal... It is otherwise the same. This is what your machine is supposed to look like.
