I have the US issue, on the standard black Orthophonic "scroll" label... it's a fun bit of history.

For many years, Milton Cross hosted the Texaco Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts...

How could anyone forget Milton Cross? It went something like this, 'This is Milton Cross, live from the Metropolitan Opera....'

Still available...needs a new home before my 8-9 arrives in November! You can pick it up from Detroit, or I can bring to the fall Stanton auction.

Garrett, thank you for your input. However, I paid $600 to rebuild the pickup, chassis, and speaker alone. The cabinet is free.

I see Intertique has a non-working C-4, with similar cabinet condition, for $650. $600 is a bargain, but Detroit is outside my falling-asleep-while-driving range, sadly - and I really want a C-2.

Any takers at $575? I didn't really want to drop the price any more, but I really need it out of my way.

I can't believe you haven't sold it and I'm sorry to hear that you have to drop your price yet again. I suggest that you join the Antique Radio Forum and advertize it in their sale section. Many people on that forum are interested in such machines and you might find a buyer there.
I see that you didn't take it to Stanton's after all which was probably a good idea as the radios don't usually bring a lot there, although this one would probably do better simply because it is an Edison. Good luck with it. I would love to buy it but I just can't justify it for a variety of reasons.

I can say that I own a 1929 Edison C-4 radio/phono, and after I had George Epple rebuild the pickup, the phonograph sound is truly phenomenal! It's also a very handsome cabinet to display in your parlor or living room. I can play most 78s on it and most, except the very old, wide-labeled, acoustic records, will shut off automatically at the end of the record whether it has a eccentric groove or not. The radio also works well and I love the Light-O-Matic feature. It's beautiful at night! I consider that it's a must to own at least one Edison radio if you are an Edison collector to represent the end of the Edison entertainment division. And technically, this is the last Edison phonograph floor model made!

Surprisingly I did that quite a while ago, not a single response! I guess nobody is in the market for a C-4 right now.
