How do you replace lid springs on Brunswick Cortez?

Yes, I did buy Century Springs. I finally got my lid to stay up, but I had to cut off about 5 or 6 coils from the springs with a Dremel 3000, and make a new hook in order to give them enough strength to hold up my lid. Now it works like new! Thanks to all of you, especially RAK for helping me fix this. This phonograph continues to surprise me every time I put a record on it. The sound is truly amazing!!!
